HOW TO REACH THAMPURAN PARA FROM
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
CAR OR BIKE: You can reach Thampuran Para from Thiruvananthapuram by road, covering approximately 24 km. If traveling by car or bike, take MC Road (SH1) towards Vembayam, then follow the local roads to Ozhukupara, from where a short trek leads to the summit. The journey takes around 45 minutes.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT/KSRTC: For
those using public transport, KSRTC and private buses run from Thampanoor Bus
Stand to Vembayam. From there, you can hire an auto-rickshaw or take a local
bus to Ozhukupara before beginning the trek to Thampuran Para.
TRAIN: If coming by train,
Thiruvananthapuram Central (TVC) is the nearest railway station. After
arriving, take a bus or taxi to Vembayam, then continue towards the trekking
point at Ozhukupara.
FLIGHT: For air travelers,
Trivandrum International Airport (TRV) is about 30 km away. A taxi or bus to
Vembayam is the best option, followed by local transport to reach the base of
Thampuran Para. The final leg is a refreshing trek through nature, leading to
spectacular hilltop views.
